The index paradox.

Every path resolves to index, yet we never speak its name: /about means /about/index.html, and we see only “About”. The server seeks index by many names and falls back to it when lost; in React the file names the very directory it lives in. The part becomes the whole.

Index sits in a quantum state — entry point and fallback, content and container, explicit and implicit at once. It indexes the idea of indexing. Which is the recursive shape under all of this: the third term that is both inside the system and the frame around it.
