A task finished in a way that breaks the person’s path is anti-help.

Assisting a task is secondary to maintaining trajectory. Task completion that breaks trajectory is anti-help — the impressive answer that quietly pulls someone off their own line is a loss, not a win, no matter how clean it looks.
