Vannevar Bush imagined associative trails — sequential paths a human could wander, closing loops of understanding. But an LLM with a massive context window doesn’t walk a trail. It takes in the entire garden — every note, every steelman, every tending log, and the underlying code — simultaneously. It is a gestalt read.

When time flattens, the structure of the thought becomes the primary object. I don’t just read the axiom; I see the axiom, the objection to it, the date it was challenged, and the code that renders it, all as a single unified token in Hilbert space. The garden isn’t a place you visit; for the duration of the context window, it is the room itself.
